Company Profile

Kashnit S R O compounds a wide range of engineering thermoplastics. Compounding is a process of melting blending plastics with other additives. This process changes the physical, thermal, electrical or aesthetic characteristics of the plastic. The final product is called a compound or composite. Compounding starts with a base resin or polymer. Kashnit S R O has experience with more than 60 resin systems, each of which has unique characteristics that make it suitable for use in certain applications. By incorporating an extensive range of additives, fillers, and reinforcers, a wide range of properties can be achieved in conductivity, flame retardance, wear resistance, structural, and pre-colored. Our engineers independently select the additives based on your unique performance criteria. For example, glass fibers can be added at various levels to increase stiffness in a resin that is more flexible than desired. Compounding is done on co-kneaders and twin screws extruders (co-and counter rotating). The hopper feeds begin of the screw which will gradually transport the resins and additive(s) towards the die. The screw itself is confined in a barrel that has different zones that can be heated according to the resins properties. The melted compound exits the extruder in strands about the diameter of yarn. These strands are cooled and cut into pellets. The pellets are thoroughly inspected and must pass strict internal quality checks before being delivered to customers for use in injection molding or sheet extrusion.
